Ampersand Arts Meeting minutes 12-04-07 (notes taken by trish)

Call to order, 8:40pm

Roll Call: Brooks Hollar not present.

Guests: Tom Durfee, Chevonne Braye

Officers’ Reports: None


Committee reports:


    * Fundraising Committee: did not meet this past month
    * Website Committee: Nothing to report. Sherry’s name is spelled wrong, Brooks needs to fix.
    * Barhoppers Committee: nothing new to report

Old business:

NOTLD: Jenni to get pricing on engraving. Bell to be ordered now, and we will discuss the engraving after it arrives. Will be discussed by email. Any receipts not turned in at this point aren’t refundable.


This is how it goes: going well. Productive. Greg went with John to look at space secured at Stonewall Jackson Elem. School. First floor space right behind tea bizarre. Will work well for show. Maybe get 25 seats in there. Brooks still needs to see and decide if cast needs to be elevated. Still trying to figure out if post-show discussions will take place in the space or over at the Tea Bizarre. Bizarre would be open to serve tea etc before show and after. Have use of other rooms. Cast and crew need to park away from building to avail parking for guests. Posters ready, not putting up until Greg approves. Cover at next meeting to sign up for coverage at shows. Jan giving windows in January to advertise shows. Lola talked to John. Lola and another person to play half an hour before each show. Asked Lola to get together a list of local musicians to donate songs to play preshow and during.


Writers group: heath says going well. Had another person show up, up to five people or so. Trish to send press release to News Leader and News Virginian and hook and 81 Deanna.


Chuck: meeting with John Hoe Friday. Letters of Incorp. Finished to be sent in


Chris: sketch comedy. Went by to talk to visualite, no one there, left message for them today. Waiting on call back


Trish to email once quote from state farm comes in


Greg’s holiday mixer update. We’re not doing it. Annual thing should be done for cast and crew each year. WE should think on that. Not at the holidays


New Business:


Jenni: city of Staunton billed us for 40K of personal properties on the business. Jenni to go to city building to fix this


Greg suggests waiving Megan’s admission fees because she is storing a lot of our things.



Discussions:


Shenanarts: Chuck have info next meeting.


Javahoppers: Possible outline/timeline Of when stuff goes into schools. Scripts due March 20th . Auditions are March 29 and 30? Performances mid – end of may. (16-17 and 23-24) Help needed for Javahoppers fliers and such.


Barhoppers: script submissions due first week of feb
